Speaking on the BBC R4 Today programme, health secretary Steve Barclay claimed NHS consultants receive tax-free pensions.

This is incorrect. Pensions for consultants are subject to the same tax rules that apply to all pensioners.

The appalling waits & failures of care caused by the government running the NHS into the ground are - yes, you guessed it - a 🤑🤑🤑 business opportunity for the likes of Aviva & Axa - who can't wait to profit from your fear of sickness.

Angry? RT if so.

When you cut 12K beds over 13 years you don’t get to offer 900 back as a great strategy 🤥

Especially when you’ve not offered money to staff them

Expecting existing burnt out staff to somehow do this 🤦‍♀️

Oh and then hype productivity 😬

That’s no strategy. That’s gaslighting

I guess supporting the potential English world champions isn’t worth the effort when they’re women. FA President would likely be there in a heartbeat if men had made it to the World Cup final. Shame on two male leaders.

Dear 🇬🇧,

I’m not a member of any political party. I cannot vote here or run for public office. I’m just a doctor who is terribly worried about public health and can say unequivocally: your family is not safe with this govt running the NHS.

MPs have had ten pay rises since 2010…

How’s everyone feeling about their productivity?

In 2000, there were around 240,000 hospital beds in the UK.

In 2021 this figure was approximately 157,800.

In a twenty-year period there were over 83,000 fewer hospital beds in the UK.

Lauding an extra 900 is one massive joke on the public.

In 2021, France offered the UK asylum processing facility in Calais. That facility would have then meant safe passage to the UK. The Tories rejected the offer.

Failure to provide safe passage should be considered a crime against humanity.

A 100 year old man raises £30m for the National Health Service and the money gets used to buy a rich couple a spa complex. That's the perfect metaphor for private sector involvement in the NHS.

Can Britain afford a £15 an hour minimum wage? With me in the studio to discuss this are an £84,000 a year Tory MP, a £150,000 a year rightwing journalist and a £4,000,000 a year chief executive.

Let’s remember why the ECHR was created - . It was drafted in the aftermath of the World War 2 and the Holocaust in an attempt to protect the people from the State, make sure the atrocities committed would never be repeated, and safeguard fundamental rights. Just remember that.

Let this be a strong message to all other MPs: fail to declare £70,000 in shell shares before becoming the actual environment secretary and you will have to do a pinky promise not to do it again

The Tories love to speak on behalf of the British people…

So I will too…

Where’s our money?

Why isn’t she in prison?

And of all the boats to stop, try this one:

UK banks have received a £7.3bn tax cut from Sunak, the cap on their bonuses has been removed and their profits are soaring on the back of interest rate rises.

In Italy banks face a 40% windfall tax.

There is another way.

Don't let people forget. The French government has repeatedly offered to build a refugee processing centre for the UK in France, they have offered to help fund it and to allow British immigration staff to work there.
It would instantly solve the 'boats' problem

The UK refused.

Thanks to Brexit, Brits have the right to work the longest hours in Europe, until they reach the highest retirement age in Europe, when they get one of the lowest pensions in Europe. Why won't Remainers acknowledge that?

Just when you thought the couldn't get more desperate - they're talking of sending asylum seekers 4,000 miles away to

An idea that's been knocking around the Tory party for 20 yrs, but when they looked at the details no-one was mad

Right: FT reports that we have delayed Brexit rules on food, again, because applying Brexit will make our food more expensive
