We spent the morning admiring the birds at St Margaret's Loch in Holyrood Park learning about what to feed them (oats cornflakes and seeds) and what not to (bread). Huge thank you to Keith from Historic Environment Scotland for taking us out, everyone had a great time.

Another fantastic effort by the Youth Build crew tackling the snowberry in Craigmilar Castle Park. Although it is a bit of a losing battle by knocking back non-native plants like snowberry, we make more space for other plants that support a wider diversity of other species.

The last wee job of the day was to help the Duke of Edinburgh students from Castlebrae High School put up their bird boxes in Craigmillar Castle Park. Excellent balance on ladders and determined hammering.

Can you guess the animal form we were doing in Tai Chi at Criagmillar Castle Park. Channeling patience and watchfulness and striking at speed!

Our Redford Woods volunteers have been busy continuing our dead hedging. We've been using wood cut from an overhanging tree to build the hedge and plating hedgerow species alongside to bring some life to the structure, such as Hawthorn, Hazel and Willow.

Our Redhall Branching Out group had a great nature based session this week, discovering many varieties of birds and wildflowers along the Water of Leith including Nuthatch, Tree creepers, Robins and Black Caps, Ramsons, Stitchwort and Pink Purslane among many others.

Lots of fun cycling all the way to Hermitage of Braid. We love exploring our local greenspaces and learning along the way too.

We've had our first couple of weeks of outdoor Tai Chi in Hopetoun crescent garden and the sun has shone for us. There is nothing better than being outside. Big thanks to Friends of Hopetoun Crescent Garden with the help in setting up the group.

We were out with Niddriemill pupils today putting up posters they have made to remind others to take care of the little trees we planted last month. The trees are looking good.

A fantastic day to get busy in the garden at Inch Nursery. Prepping beds for new veggies to go in, planting shallots and stripping out some older purple sprouting broccoli! All in a couple of hours, everyone worked their socks off!

It was a wonderful day to be out with the young people from the Craigmillar Youth Build project. We were fixing the hedge planting down near Craigmillar Castle Park Rd. Over 50 trees planted and new guards put on.

The conservation group at Royal Edinburgh Hospital had a brilliant time learning what wildlife lives in the orchard from the signs they leave. Big thanks to Dan Puplett for an amazing session, Alix from Cyrenians and Ida from RSPB Scotland for organising.

We had a wonderful time with our friends from Team Nature Nordic and All Ability Wellbeing Walks and Guide Dogs Scotland when we visited Lauriston Castle grounds. We learned about the Chilean Pine tree, marveled at the Rhododendrons and basked beneath the cherry blossom.
