A special treat for Passover, this lavishly illustrated Haggadah with texts in Hebrew and Aramaic, a Hebrew commentary, and a Ladino translation, was published nearly 400 years ago in Venice.
The vivid colours were added later on.

This image comes from a late 19th century Marathi-Hebrew Haggadah printed in Pune, by the Ilkar brothers.

Pune is home to the Ohel David synagogue which was built in 1867, just a few years before this was printed!

Still obsessing about the Ten Plagues in medieval Haggadot. Here's the Fourth Plague in the Sarajevo Haggadah. These animals aren't just wild, they are WILD!

The most moving event! A big collection of documents looted from the Lublin Yeshiva by a German soldier in 1940, brought back to Lublin by his granddaughter yesterday and officialy returned in the Yeshiva’s synagogue.
