It has been 20 days after the mainshock in eastern , and now the area is struck by an aftershock cluster containing multiple M6 and M5 earthquakes in the last 24 hours. The strongest one is estimated to be M(L) 6.3, with hypocenter depth very close to the surface.

Heavy rain, a landslide and earthquakes.

A railway line was severed in Hualien after torrential rains led to the collapse of a mountainside. Later in the evening the area also saw a series of tremors that were felt across Taiwan's main island.
