Today I attended FEMM Committee Press's meeting at the European Parliament to take stock of our #UnionOfEquality achievements during this mandate and the progress made towards #GenderEquality and women's rights.

On the new episode of euronews’ “Real Economy” programme, I talked with Paul Hackett about the new #EUDisabilityCard & #EUParkingCard , part of #EUDisabilityRights Strategy & how they will facilitate the life of persons with disabilities across Europe.

Today I addressed the “For a Young Europe, demographic transition, environment, future” conference in Rome, organised by Italian Minister for Family, Natality and Equal Opportunities, Eugenia Roccella, with a focus on #WorkLifeBalance and low fertility rates.

We have work to do across Europe to achieve equality, inclusion and participation for #Roma people.

I urge Member States to empower and cooperate with Roma CSOs and communities in the implementation of their national Roma strategies.

I participated to the European Parliament Plenary Session on #InternationalRomaDay .

Despite progress, Roma are still widely excluded and are at great risk of poverty and discrimination.

The #EURomaStrategicFramework requires MSs’ decisive action to achieve a #UnionOfEquality for all.

Today I joined MEP Evelyn Regner and ÖGB Vice-President Korinna Schumann for a press conference at the European Parliament to highlight this mandate’s #GenderEquality strategy achievements in different areas of life.

I thank the European Parliament for its vote in #EPPlenary in favour of the new directives on standards for #EqualityBodies .

I look forward to the #EPSCO meeting to reach this law’s final adoption.

Today I met Patrick Charlier, Chair of Equinet, European Network of Equality Bodies in anticipation of the adoption of new directives on independence, resources and powers of #EqualityBodies , that were secured through a final vote at the European Parliament.

4 years ago, we embarked on a mission to achieve a #UnionOfEquality and a #SocialEurope .

Much was achieved and we continue to work to deliver on all our commitments.

To tackle discrimination and promote equality for Roma, the EU mobilises its funding instruments & cooperates with the Council of Europe.

Together we are determined to provide quality & non-segregated education for Roma children through the #INSCHOOL programme.

To eradicate inequalities between the general population and Roma, Member States are implementing the EU Roma strategic framework.

I call for greater effort to achieve the objectives and targets set, and promote Roma equality through all relevant policies.

80% of Roma in 10 EU Countries are still at risk of poverty.

On #InternationalRomaDay , I call for greater commitment and action from all to achieve the targets set by the #EURomaStrategicFramework , combat antigypsyism & advance equality for Roma people.

As #EP2024 elections approach, underrepresentation of racial & ethnic minorities is a democratic deficit we must address:
- On the ballot with representative candidate lists
- By holding accountable those who propagate racist views

My message on the Anti-Racism & Diversity Week:

The #EUDisabilityRights Strategy aims to ensure that persons with disabilities, in all their diversity, have equal living standards, are included and participate as equal members of our societies.
