The thing with writers like Osman Samiuddin and Rohit Brijnath is that they create fantastic reads out of the most mundane things..this on MSD’s hairstyle is a case in point..

No 100s..not even a 50..and they get to 234..if Hardik had gone quicker over his 33 balls, the score would have been massive..

Excellent piece. A critical line in it: impact player creates more depth..

I believe that depth frees up batters to take more risk and that leads to more aggression.

Also, established players seem to value their wicket more than less recognised players

This story about vijay dahiya discovering Mayank Yadav reminds me of the time we had Vijay Dahiya come for a trial to my college, and a guy named Mayank (Atreya) bowled him twice..we had to work very hard to get Dahiya in to St Stephen’s! 😀😀😀espncricinfo.com/story/how-maya…

Virat Kohli’s 100 off 67 balls is the slowest ever hundred in IPL on Indian soil and the joint-slowest overall, equaling Manish Pandey who also took 67 balls for RCB against Deccan Chargers in Centurion in 2009.
