We believe all sorts of myths about Scottish education. I think these have the evidentiary value of my old mug that says “world’s best dad”.

Today was a brilliant day! Well done to everyone who helped make this happen. We can’t wait to deliver electric journeys for our customers from Monday. The rolling programme of electrification rolls on! ⚡️ 🌍 👍🏻

As Tom Forth likes to point out, sometimes UK performance is a complete mystery. Like why today it's taken me 4 hours to travel between two of the country's top 4 economic regions and mobile signal is so bad you can't make a phone call let alone a Teams call...

As I guessed at the time, the new rules actually contrive to put British citizens in a worse position than some migrants in terms of bringing their spouse to the UK. This rushed policy is deeply flawed and an embarrassing indictment of the short-termism of British policy making.

Proud of quality of discourse in . Disaggregation of negative trends reveals worsening results by boys and children from immigrant families. Socioeconomic gradient also becoming steeper. Challenge for society as well as education system.

I think PISA shows us things we already know. The curriculum is part of the issue, and it makes sense that this would affect maths and sciences more than reading. A lack of the right resources, most notably but not exclusively teachers, isn't helping either.

If they go ahead with this, it will be unconscionable. Unconscionable. Not just preventing Brits from coming home with a foreign partner, but actively breaking up British families *who already live together in the country*. independent.co.uk/news/uk/politi…

Applying this to couples already in the country is remarkably tin-eared. People should have an expectation of some stability in government policy - not that they will suddenly have to earn more than double what they were expecting. Breaking up families should not be on the table.

This is the chart that must be terrifying legacy automakers like Toyota, VW & the Big Three. Pure-play EV companies (i.e., Tesla, BYD etc) are rapidly eating into global market share. The legacy automakers NEED an EV strategy or they are going to lose global share year after year

Can’t recommend this from James McEnaney on enough:

“This data should provoke some soul-searching in Scotland – it should not become a megaphone through which politicians, pundits, columnists and lobbyists scream that ‘something must be done!’
