Good News Alert: Over 1500 books have been distributed in Iftiin Schools, providing a major boost to students' education. A big thank you to our partner Book Aid International for the donation. #Somalia #Education

Humanitarians in #Somalia have been hit by a funding crisis and can barely meet basic needs of hungry families, desperate communities, displaced women & children. In a statement, the Humanitarian Coordinator warns that the cost could be catastrophic if this gap is not addressed.

We welcome this initiative by the World Bank and hope it will elevate education in Somalia, especially for girls.

If we fail to respond:
➡️Nearly 3M Somalis will have no access to essential health care. This will result in excess deaths & disease outbreaks.
➡️There will be insufficient resources to address preventable health outbreaks such as AWD/Cholera & COVID-19. #costofinactioninsomalia

Thanks to our partner Book Aid International, we are sending 1,529 books to our schools in Somalia. They will allow students to excel in their studies and reach their full potential.
