A new painting of Portmeirion finished today. Watercolour.

Ah, I forgot I did this painting, too! It was a daytime painting, but I didn't like it at first. So I started to block it out with a dark colour, to reuse the backing, but realised I liked it better that way, and added stars.

Two years since I got Covid for the first time and it gave my brain this weird boost: while I was sick, I busily painted four large paintings, not in my usual style or medium. I felt way more focused than usual, it was a very odd experience

Yesterday I was asked to give a short talk to the local branch of the Guild of Devonshire Ringers, about being a newbie bell ringer. …Except I only really know how to give talks about pictures, so I just held up a bunch of my drawings and they were all very nice about it 🤦🏼‍♀️

Sarah McIntyre I think it's St Giles and the hind! According to legend, he protected his deer friend from the arrows of a king trying to hunt it, and got wounded by an arrow as a result.

I really enjoy taking my girls to the library; I get a bit of 'me' time surrounded by wonderful books! Free is written and illustrated by Sam Usher and is also brilliant! What a lovely Grandad! ❤️📚

Phoenix Fest 2024 is announced! I'll be at this, meeting fans, drawing pictures and getting up to general comic-related mayhem! It's been so much fun the last couple of years, such a great event!
