There is another eating disorders researcher doing qualitative work, and we have quietly been reviewing one another’s work for the last five years. Each time our papers come out, we reveal “I also reviewed this one.” 😂

I am SO excited to share that our new paper 'Men in Feminism: A Self-Determination Approach and Goals for the Future' was just accepted for publication at Psychology of Men and Masculinities. Fun, inspiring process with Charlotte Moser, PhD and Shaun Wiley -- can't wait to share with you all!

Hey all! NORC is hiring an RA II for work on some LGBTQ+ related projects. This is a good fit for someone finishing up a Master’s degree this year. NORC is a great place to work: great research, great benefits, great people!

The best thing about having a PhD in social psychology is that now all my friends send me screenshots of texts from the people they’re dating and ask me, “what does this mean?”

Petition for journals to share the page length of the manuscripts they ask you to review. Just accidentally accepted a *double checks* 86 page manuscript due in two weeks 🫠

This is a great group, and I’m especially proud of Connor I. Elbe, M.A. for presenting our work on how sexual minority men in larger bodies navigate weight stigma in their casual sexual experiences! 👏

No better feeling than reading through first-author manuscripts from the students you’ve mentored. Amazing to be a part of their journey 😭❤️

I would say this one was pretty rough, particularly because they had guidelines for qualitative research on the journal’s website. 😵‍💫

Relatedly, I am so excited for my OTHER amazing, brilliant friend Ryan Linn Brown, PhD 🌻, who is going to change the world with her enormous brain and heart.

The group chat will never be the same once she leaves the Bay, but we are excited for many adventures to see her regularly!

Endlessly proud of my brilliant friend Sanjana, who is already doing amazing things but will now get more money and job security to do them even better 🔥👏

I’m also happy that she is not leaving the Bay Area until fall of 2025 because I am NOT ready to say goodbye 😭
