i'm shocked & appalled people think that grown adults should be prevented from medical services. This report was about children's services-there are already massive safeguards in place. Children wait many yrs for support & we are losing some as they wait. THEIR needs come first

TLDR of the Cass Review:

'we disregarded nearly all studies because they weren't double blinded controlled studies. We also stopped reviewing newer studies released in the last two years. As a result, we were left with very little evidence.'

This is an impossible standard.

The Cass Review not only denies almost all research on adolescent gender treatment (including a blanket denial of all non-English language research) but also states trans people shouldn’t be able to transition until 25.

Once again Labour have thrown trans people under the bus.

Regardless of your view on trans rights, the idea that somebody aged 18 and over doesn’t know what to do with their own body is utter nonsense. #cassreview is fundamentally flawed.

Parents of children with special educational needs across the UK face a postcode lottery of woefully underfunded support under the Conservatives, with many unable to access the support they deserve.

No child should have to wait so long or fight so hard to have their needs met.

This is also a helpful reminder that Labour have stepped back in both new Forest seats designating them “non-battleground”. Yet to announce candidates either.

Tomorrow, the Carer’s Leave Bill introduced by Wendy Chamberlain MP comes into force. This bill will allow employees who are carers to take up to a week of unpaid leave every 12 months.

The work unpaid carers do is so vital yet is it extremely underappreciated.
