Proceeding any further with the Norwich Western Link road could bankrupt Norfolk County Council - not to mention the incalculable destruction of wildlife. It's not a risk that is anywhere near worth taking. Stop the Wensum Link πππ

OneNorwich Practices' collapse has led to staff not knowing whether they'd get paid at Christmas, and has left asylum seekers and vulnerable adults in an unacceptable position.
Thank you Anna Colivicchi for covering my call for an investigation.

Only just seen excellent piece by Jamie Osborn π± in yesterdayβs Eastern Daily Press about travesty of Weston Homes being let off CIL when developing Anglia Square. Norwich Labour Party has serious questions to answer.
If the Norwich Western Link falls apart - eg if it fails in planning or due to legal challenges - Norfolk County Council will *completely wipe out* its reserves to cover the costs. And then they will also have to repay at least Β£25m to DfT. This is serious. It could bankrupt the council.
For years, Norfolk's Tories claimed the Norwich Western Link will cut carbon emissions, ignoring scrutiny from experts.
Now they have been forced to admit that it will add thousands of tonnes of CO2 into the environment each year. And at a cost of Β£70m per mile! Stop the Wensum Link πππ
New Tory Norwich North candidate denies human-caused climate change. This in a week when floods caused devastation around the country. Where do they find them?!
Conservatives need to reselect and find a candidate who understands what climate change is.

If Norfolk County Council goes ahead with the Norwich Western Link, we can expect the same disaster again.
There's no way that ancient and veteran trees cut down for the road can be replaced, no matter how many saplings are planted (and die). Stop the Wensum Link πππ

In the face of staggering environmental and financial costs, we question Norfolk County Council decision to pursue the project.
The quoted figures seem outdated, with current estimates showing an exorbitant construction cost of Β£400m, a far cryβ¦
The Tories are scrambling to find something to show for their record in government and are desperatelyΒ making uncosted and undeliverable promises.
If it goes ahead, the Western Link would be terrible for taxpayers and the environment. Stop the Wensum Link πππ eveningnews24.co.uk/news/23853027.β¦
Such an amazing show of support for the Save Wensum Lodge campaign this morning Norfolk County Council. The Tories seem to have been disingenuous in their approach to selling Wensum Lodge and we need scrutiny.
Next public meeting 7pm at the Kings Centre on King Street.
Recently been elected to a local council? Wonder how to have the most effect and biggest impact? Our six-session newly-elected councillors course explores making a big climate-action impact. More here: buff.ly/44n1qJg

πSpiralling costs (probably Β£250m more than initial plans)

π³No way it wouldn't trash the environment
Yet Norfolk Conservatives insist they 'remain confident' about the Western Link. Seems like magical thinking!

Keir Starmer: βWe canβt end child poverty unless we have more money to do it β and thatβs not going to happen, frankly, in the first term of a Labour government.'
Child poverty shouldn't be negotiable. Me in Eastern Daily Press for Norwich Green Party π
