Amidst so much personal turmoil, work has kept me going. I'm lucky people trust me to teach, write, and program films. It really drives me to do better; be better. Even if things get rough, I'm grateful there's space for me to live out some of my dreams, no matter how briefly.

Starting the week with great news! We've chosen our six grantees for #QCShorts 2024. Their films will debut in this year’s QCinema festival from November 8-17, 2024. Congratulations to our #QCinema2024 batch!

This was my first year on the selection committee. The quality of scripts submitted was excellent. Congratulations to the grantees!

One of the best parts about being a film critic and film programmer is discovering voices, stories and storytelling methods and introducing them to readers.

We sifted through 254 submissions from across the globe and came across some truly brilliant work out there. It's proof that there's so much local talent. Really excited for these six films to be made and shown to the world. Hope you come and support them in November! :>

Critics have always been 'the enemy' to certain demographics but the ways that the eager harassment and abusing of people just doing their jobs has become a 'noble' task for so many zealous fandoms is deeply concerning. We're seeing how it impacts editorial choices.
