On a related note just filed in Texas district court, now that the court just lifted the stay on discovery of Google and Meta for their joint “Jedi Blue” project that fueled Google’s adtech market power, Meta is forcing the depositions to happen in London. Hmmmmm. 1/3

This is one of those 'Trump doesn't want you to believe your own eyes' times. It's easy to visit the area around the courthouse. The park is open and accessible. The police officers are friendly, maybe a tad bored. A woman was walking her dog when I arrived this morning.

I mean, did you notice this 17 year old email unsealed in federal court yesterday? Google’s own software treating Google’s third party cookies as spyware. This is what happened when Google had to treat itself as a threat actor.

If you wrote a news report on Google’s delay in turning off third party tracking cookies but did not mention US v Google adtech antitrust trial this Sept or Texas v Google adtech antitrust trial in q1 2025, please see your editor immediately.

Reminder, Google and Facebook are unique from other major tech platforms, in that a majority of their data comes from third parties rather than their user-facing services. That’s why third party cookie deprecation is a risk for Google if it has to treat itself as a threat actor.

If you believe that WSJ’s news report tonight that Google has delayed its deprecation of cookies for the fourth time is entirely unrelated to the discovery and depositions on its plans in federal court over the next few weeks, I have a bridge to sell you.

Anyone ever seen a Mr Beast tweet on here that isn’t an unlabeled paid/boosted tweet? Just curious on those economics. Thanks.

Because Facebook/Meta/Instagram is abusing its market power causing an imbalance in bargaining power - the exact reason the law was passed. Don't forget to mention Google starts paying news publishers $75 million in June, Mister Google.

With emphasis on my last bullet below, “further delaying through friendly publication,” I request you pls follow Sara, read her 2021 report and know her and publication will actually show up for Google’s antitrust trial in September unlike AdExchanger and other industry trades.

WSJ reporter Evan Gershkovich’s appeal has been rejected. He’ll be held in pre-trial detention until at least June 30. But members of the media were let in to see him for the first time in months.
