Jennifer Kim I think there used to be a progressive feeling in tech that it was helping people and that drew optimists in. but as it became less radical and more incremental OKR or straight-up capitalism and bs jobs the people drawn to original ideals left to pursue direct progressive helping

Jennifer Kim I personally feel it’s the shift from misfit creative culture in early tech (pre-2000’s) to the current more academic, hustle culture that seems predominant now.
