Good, capable people with experience, resources, ability and knowledge drop the fuck out and build alternatives

But we’re all busy on the treadmill, bought into the rigged game just enough to make doing something different quite uncomfortable

In craft-based disciplines, you can often tell how experienced someone is by how basic or advanced their questions are when they’re learning something in the craft.

The more experienced they are, the more basic the questions they ask.

Over 1 million people have joined Mastodon since October 27. Between that and those who returned to their old accounts, the number of active users has risen to over 1.6 million today, which, for context, is over 3 times what it was just about two weeks ago!

People always want to build software instead of social technology. They think we can offload the problem of social relations to code, when in fact we need relational skills and robust communities *much* more.

While everyone is busy looking for geniuses and conspiracies, exponentially amplified randomness is sitting right there in its corner, quietly chuckling away.
