The National Defense University’s College of International Security Affairs stopped by to learn about Joint Interagency Task Force South mission, & how it integrates with other agencies. The school teaches a course about the foundation on how the US Government employs and synchronizes various instruments of power.
Way to go @uscg Cutter Hamilton! @JIATFS can monitor @ detect the illicit smuggling, but we need partners like the U.S. Coast Guard to do the interdictions. Last week the crew of the USCGC Hamilton - WMSL 753 offloaded approximately 21,000lbs of marijuana worth an estimated $20 million.

When the Joint Operating Area is 42 million square miles, it helps to have great partnerships in the fight against illicit trafficking. Fuerza Naval del Caribe did a great job with this interdiction. Keep up the great work.
