If you thought Beatrix Potter was ‘just’ a children’s author then a visit to National Trust Hill Top Lake District will open your eyes to a sophisticated woman with her own mind, forensic observational & artistic skills & vision and networks to prompt a conservation movement.

In my experience EDI initiatives always lead to better recruitment, better filling of vacancies and more effective and successful workforces.

Clear and convincing from John Alty, former Permanent Secretary at the Department for International Trade, on diversity in the civil service.

Tells you all you need to know about the Times editorial page that they didn't publish it.

Who sits in Conservatives meetings and comes up with the tripe they lead on for campaigns? All this garbage about what is taught in schools. Alarming to parents, disrespectful of teachers and zero evidence. Bash universities, the National Trust, public servants. All nonsense.

Another unelected peer Lord John Woodcroft talking nonsense tonight on The News Agents .There should be no place for criminalising peaceful protests. If protestors threaten life or property, destroy factories or attempt to damage artworks these are criminal already. That’s clear.

Light is a wonderful, in the hands of a great landscape photographer — which you can read, Richard, as either “a great photographer of landscapes” or, if you prefer modesty, “a photographer of great landscapes.” Credit where credit is due.

Hanging at our gallery for a month from Thursday - open to all. Check website for viewing times. Best formal life portrait of a sovereign for a very long while in my view.

Good decision. There is sometimes a good case to convert barns to dwellings, but often farm buildings are remote, allied to busy farm buildings or of high landscape or heritage value. It takes sensible decisions with planning officers and planning committees to decide.

So according to Rishi Sunak right wing newspapers,TV channels & politicians can spew hatred of diversity initiatives, immigration, National Trust & universities but peaceful environmental & peace protestors threaten our nation. Desperate stuff from leader of a party going under.
