Today, without notice, #HS2 have taken possession of our Calvert Jubilee nature reserve. They will now destroy decades of hard work by BBO Wildlife Trust staff & volunteers who have made it a haven for wildlife. This is a sad day for us, and for all who fought to save this special place.

I was intrigued recently to see these galls (on upright hedge parsley). Coincidentally, I then saw a picture of what looked to be the same in a thread by @haggewoods. So, borrowing from that, they are probably caused by the larvae of kiefferia pericarpiicola. #wildwebswednesday

#365DaysofBotany Day 106 In a shady spot weeding session I was pleased to find this Wood Speedwell, Veronica montana. Leaves coarsely toothed, all stalked, sprawling stems which are hairy all round. Pale lilac blue flowers in loose clusters. Left it unweeded!
