I have thoroughly enjoyed my time as a NGL! It has been such an honor to interact with the brilliant scientists at the Allen institute and the other NGL members. I have gained so much and will continue to benefit for the rest of my career! Apply!!

Wait, so the methodology for DeSantis's splashy report was to take the total operating costs of Florida hospitals and divide that by the % of people served who were undocumented—even though 96% of those costs were paid for by patients/insurance!

That is so dishonest.

I'm delighted to share the latest work from our lab in which Hao-Ching Jiang and SungJin Park demonstrate that MS4A1/CD20 functions as a mammalian odorant receptor in a previously uncharacterized population of sensory neurons.

This tweet is a great example of how the internet is not the real world. From the replies and QTs one might think Tampa is Red. But the city and surrounding area has been growing and thriving under Democratic leadership for over a decade.

This is from the Florida Agency for Healthcare Administration. Which is why we need federal intervention to keep our kids healthy. It just isn’t an institutional priority. “Financial independence” is, which tells you everything you need to know about the “pro life” republicans.

Dr Conservative Mama A) No gravy train. Educators aren’t paid enough & Nebraska schools are underfunded.
B) This isn’t about choice. In Arkansas 95% of those receiving vouchers were already in private schools
C) it’s not competition. Private won’t accept everyone & don’t have the same accountability.

Parents choosing to eliminate parent choice in school availability is something. If you want a charter school go try to start one. Don’t work to eliminate the public school (and jobs) for your neighbors.

At Newberry Elementary, parents vote for conversion but teacher vote fails by one vote. Expect the Florida Legislature to bring back language to eliminate teacher participation in future conversion votes. Such language was proposed this past session.

National media wasn’t even on this story. But I just looked where they told me to look.

The only reason I thought about this was that when I woke up this morning, one of them had texted me this:

“Look what we did…

No one else.

Just us.”
