Echo is the 2nd highest watched Disney+ show. It’s the HIGHEST watched Marvel show

Prey was the biggest Hulu release

Yet Native stories are still largely ignored in Hollywood

When studies come out showing that Hollywood’s leaving hundreds of millions on the table. Believe them

and that's only cuz you can't hear me. The main reason I don't cuss IRL is because I can't pull it off and folks have told me it's like hearing a baby say a bad word, adorable, funny but unsettling lol

Yes....except without the obscenities that often pepper my tweets. IRL I don't say bad words lol maybe a rat bastard here and there but I only cuss up a storm online

Don't just be a cheerleader, cheering for wins. Be a spirit leader....encourage, nuture and build up the spirit of both individuals and communities in times of loss and wins and all the times in between.

So when you see me cheering and promoting folks and their work, it's because it's needed heartwork and spirit work, to make sure others know that they matter, their work matters and they are appreciated and celebrated because they may not always have that.

It can be painful to succeed, to win. There are so many beautiful folks who downplay their achievements, some who never say a word because they know from experience or how they've see others treated that their win may alienate them in some way.

We're still learning to recognize how trauma from various systemic oppressions have impacted us and how it manifests in ourselves, our families and communities. And because we're not a hive mind and we're all at different places in our understanding and healing......

Knowing first hand how success no matter how big or how small, it can be alienating and even tho you haven't changed a person, how others view you has changed based on their own insecurities.

What we aren't always prepared for and what we don't prepare our youth for is what happens when you actually win, when you succeed and how that can trigger a chain reaction of insecurities and jealousy stemming from the trauma and scarcity mentality caused by systemic oppression.

I'm always cheering for folks, always down to recognize one's shine and one of the reasons for that is because success can be alienating for marginalized people.

We always encourage folks to be successful, we tell them anything is possible, they can achieve anything.

You know that line in Bring It On when the Clovers were writing their letter to Pauletta and they said instead of Cheerleaders they should be called Spirit Leaders....I think we should all aspire to be that for one another.
