I’ve heard at least two people tell me seriously about a July plan. Either as a response to a thrashing in the locals, or from a position of semi strength. Am starting to believe it more now.

This whole excerpt - presumably the most exciting in the book - is just so *banal*. And badly written. Downing St is pressured. Women in public life are photographed a lot. The flat is small. I can’t see people. All written in a GCSE descriptive writing style. God it’s dull 🥱

I had forgotten my favourite OJ Simpson fact (probably my favourite fact), OJ Simpson was a sprinter before becoming an American footballer, he took part in a race in 1967 won by a British athlete who ran under 10.2s for the second time that year

That athlete, Ming Campbell

Like many women, I left teaching when I had children.

We're keen to hear from as many women as possible who've left and those who've stayed - to see what we can learn to help more women stay in the classroom.

it is a great bit that Keir Starmer, a man who genuinely loves football, manages whenever he posts about the sport to come across like he had never heard of it before reading the Wikipedia page this morning

Hugh Brechin His 3 'loves of football' on the Adam Hurrey podcast (where guests are encouraged to pick the nichest things possible) were 1) going to matches, 2) playing football and 3) goals

One of my favourite subplots in British Politics is Keir Starmer genuinely being a massive football fan, but sounding like freak every time he talks about it.

I can’t believe the actual solar eclipse got less coverage than Diane Abbott having one mojito on the tube, smh

This is a brilliant thread and typically reflective and nuanced. Well worth following along during Easter break.

The fact that Stop the War are even involved in the conference is a blight on the NEU. Tankies should be nowhere near education.

Turns out that a match played with eight (8) centre backs not all that exciting. That tactical switch isn’t for everyone lads
