Just finished this profound book by Austin Frerick about the “Barons” who control much of our food system. Wondering how workers, the environment, animals, and family farmers have been exploited by big food corporations? It’s in here, with a hopeful clarion call for change.

Please Ron DeSantis: Do NOT sign the Kristi Noem Bill (SB 1084) which, buried within it, will allow people to shoot dogs. Unlike Kristi Noem, you're a lover not a dog killer. 🙏🏼

Friends: Please RT far & wide to help be a voice for s and all ! Casey DeSantis

Check out this new book from Maisie Ganzler! I was honored to be interviewed for it and, MUCH more importantly, Maisie is one of the true trailblazers and heroes in creating a more humane food system. amzn.to/3RTobjx

If you're one of the many people watching this new @Netflix show, you'll remember seeing Dr. Michael Greger (@nutrition_facts) featured extensively. So much of what he talks about is in his New York Times best seller, 'How Not to Age.' It's worth reading IMO!

Thank you Khalil Herbert for caring about animals and for speaking out on their behalf. I think so many of us have had dogs in our lives who've inspired us to help make the world a more humane place for all animals.

History made. The first-ever approval to sell cultivated meat in the United States happened this morning. Congratulations, GOOD Meat team. And thank you to the @fda and the @usda for all of your thoughtful work.

.Peter Singer's first edition of Animal Liberation inspired me to look at animals--and advocate for them--in a way that changed my life. (I still remember reading it on the way to my college baseball game.) I just purchased his updated version of the classic. I highly recommend.

I think the best overview of the historic SCOTUS decision *affirming* California's Prop 12, the strongest law in the world for farm animals. The law bans the production and sale of eggs, pork, and veal from animals confined in cages. (Mark Joseph Stern) slate.com/news-and-polit…

.@Kroger is facing more controversy about animal welfare. This time over an analysis that found that consumers are confused with Kroger's marketing thinking that the eggs from caged chickens are instead cage-free. Deena Shanker in Bloomberg on the story. bloomberg.com/news/articles/…

Big advancement for farm animals. Burger King, Popeyes, and Tim Hortons (all owned by RBI), announced global commitments on cage-free for hens and--at minimum--group housing for mother pigs. rbi.com/English/sustai…

A beautiful and powerful piece on animals in National Review: 'For every exploitative industry profiting from meat, skin, fur, blood sport, experimentation, and all the rest...They can take all the happiness out of life. They can’t take the miracle out of it.' nationalreview.com/magazine/2022/…

Well said Michael Grunwald '..the fate of the world’s bugs, bunnies and other creatures and critters and what’s left of the forests, wetlands and other habitats they call home depends more than anything else on what we put in our mouths and how it gets made.' nytimes.com/2022/12/15/opi…
