It's #throwbackthursday , today it's the turn of Backworth. The route of our line was once shared by the Blyth & Tyne, Hartley Main and Backworth Railways. 🚂

Fun question for Northern 🚆 (or anyone really)… Who gets to decide what the ‘Quick buy’ options are on your machines? Is it lucky dip? Or how many tickets did someone need to buy to Ely or Ormskirk to skew the algorithm?
More and more parents getting in touch about the continued closure of Jesmond Park Academy Academy. As a parent of two pupils I feel their pain. However we are now seeing the impact of academisation which was designed explicitly to take local authorities out of the loop on education.

If you're a cycling advocate who's also a National Trust member, please vote in favour of this resolution to improve active travel access to NT properties. The NT worked with Cambridgeshire County Council on the off-road link from Quy to Anglesey Abbey – it would be great to see more like this!
