Credit where it's due. A nice explainer, with good overview, and balanced presentation on the Polar Vortices ...

Interesting presentation by Richard Lindzen (Prof Emeritus, MIT) on historical Tropics-> Poles temperature gradients, compared with current GHG effects and T gradient ... and ramifications.

Interesting ... 91% prediction accuracy for UK flood events, 9 days after solar winds from CMEs reach the earth. Also, a useful summary of similar findings and theoretical mechanisms.

Being screwed around by Crypto.com. They locked me out of my app by removing the login steps. That was after I asked for a fix because an update stopped me from being able to login. Now, I cant use the app help desk and am stuck overseas without access to my funds.

I usually only comment, rather than directly Tweeting, However, Jim Steele is a good integrator and explainer of information and is worth a watch (regardless of one's views on CO2's effect on climate). His latest video is on 'solar ponds & ocean heat':

I invited Charles Hoskinson to come and visit Oxford and hopefully speak at the Oxford Union (*hrm* salvage the reputations harm caused by some players in this industry…)

Like, comment, retweet to get the Union’s attention!

Masks work for reducing covid-19 transmission risks.

Good summary of some sensible research on this. Viral load effect is also worth noting:

Great to see Prof Paolo Zanotto, a colleague from my DPhil days, in the frontlines doing anti-covid-19 disease research. He did some brilliant work at Oxford. I would take his comments very seriously.

New study:

It's 'believed' humans caused recent energy imbalances; this is an 'open' question.

Shortwave radiation (SW) increased (~3 W/m²) since 1984.

SW changes 'mainly determined' by cloud changes ... 'of great importance to recent climate change'.

New Study:

The climate sensitivity to rising CO2 concentrations is just 0.0014°C/ppm.

Doubling CO2 from 350 to 700 ppm yields a warming of less than 0.5°C.

'There is nothing CO2 would add to the current heat balance in the atmosphere.'
