Drivers can stop their vehicles quicker at 20mph, giving all road users time to spot hazards and making the roads and communities safer for everyone.

That’s why there’s a new default 20mph limit for most residential roads from 17 Sept 2023.

It’s 40 years since seatbelts legally had to be worn in vehicles on UK roads.

In Wales, from Sept, most residential streets will have a default 20mph speed limit. Like seatbelts, this will save lives & reduce the risk of injuries #SaferStreets
