19 years ago today: the Kuwaiti Parliament approved a draft law giving Kuwaiti women the right to vote and run for office.

Most analysts see greater potential for foreign investment in Kuwait's oil sector & an increase in production capacity now that the parliament is - temporarily - out of the picture.

But that depends on this move achieving greater political stability and government effectiveness.
