Money exchangers on the Sudan/South Sudan border. They said most people crossing have almost no cash - maybe enough to survive for a day or two. 638,000+ people have now crossed into South Sudan, fleeing Sudan's war, which marks its first anniversary today. #KeepEyesonSudan .

For months, I spoke to 3 Sudanese women about the #Sudan war. In anticipation for the 1 year mark of this devastating war, I tried to tell the story of the country through their eyes.

As the Sudanese war enters its second year, 22 million, almost half the country's population need urgent humanitarian aid, more than 10 million are displaced or refugees, and at least 30,000 lost their lives, if not much, much more.

Terrifying climate for #Syrians in #Lebanon these days. I had at least three people in my neighbourhood - 2 that I interact with frequently -- ask me with suspicion if I'm Syrian or of Syrian background. The boab in my building, who is Syrian, hasn't left his small room for days.
