Dads can defer their paternity leave if sick
Mams can defer maternity leave if baby is hospitalised
Workers can defer annual leave if sick
But if a mother to a new born becomes seriously ill- good luck! Law says you can’t defer maternity leave

Been saying this for years & while professional wages are essential, none of us started working in ECEC to become millionaires but unless you can enjoy your work and feel valued why would educators stay. The gov & Children, Equality, Disability, Integration, Youth need to start valuing, respecting & funding educators.
