There's a GLARING lack of disability representation in Australian children’s literature (all entertainment).

A good percentage of the books that do exist are NOT GOOD representation.

There needs to be MAJOR & FAST change, addressed from the top down.

This morning I decided to a very quick count of the students who used the #library from when I opened (7:15 am) to 8 am. Well over 200, which is a reminder of the importance of #school #libraries & how many kids rely on them on a daily basis.

I wrote for 90 minutes this morning.
About half the time visualising one whole chapter and the other half writing it.

If I hadn't spent so much time seeing it flow, hearing the interactions, layering in the clues, I think I'd still be writing it now.
