Every afternoon I tell myself I’ll go to bed early so I can wake up early to write. Every night I can’t fall asleep and am reminded by my 3 week old that it ain’t gonna happen. Every morning I sleep in until she wakes up demanding to be fed again.

My husband, biting the package of fruit snacks: ya know, fruit snacks are for kids, you’d think they’d make them so adults could open them.

Me: There’s a tear in it so that it’s easy to open.

Him: Oh hey, look at that.
*opens to find they’re all purple

My 3 week old likes to smile at the lithograph print of a tree—showing all the rings—but has yet to actually smile at me, the person who gave her life. 🤣 Normal motherhood type of things.
