As part of our 1st annual Honors Symposium, Dr. James Mack (U. of Cincinnati) will be presenting our SAACS wine and cheese colloquium today. The wine and cheese reception will be held in the Williams Hall lobby at 2:45 p.m., followed by his talk at 3:15 p.m. in 111 Williams Hall.

Congratulations to May Cheline, who successfully defended her master's thesis this afternoon! Her thesis is titled, 'Creating the Perfect Photoresponsive Prodrug: Comparing SPAAC Fluorophore Conjugated Platinum Chemotherapy.'

We would like to congratulate two of our chemical stockroom student employees for being recognized at last night's student employee awards celebration! Hannah Petrosky was recognized for Sunshine and Positivity and Kevin Miller for Inspirational Leadership.

Congratulations to Mary Brintha Croos Anburaj, who successfully defended her doctoral dissertation on April 3! The title of her dissertation is, 'Role of guanine oxidation on RNA structure and function.”

Our 2nd colloquium next week will take place on Thursday, April 11 at 4pm in 111 Williams Hall. Dr. Yann Molard (Universite de Rennes) will present, 'Hybrid Organic-Inorganic Materials Covering Emissive Transition Metal Cluster Compounds.'

Join us for an additional colloquium next week, which will be held on Tuesday, April 9 at 2:00pm in 111 Williams Hall. Dr. Binghai Yan (Weizmann Institute of Science, Israel) will be presenting, 'Topology, Spin and Orbital in DNA-type Chiral Quantum Materials.'

Join us for tomorrow's colloquium, presented by Dr. Ivan Popov (U. of Akron). This will begin at 4:00pm in 111 Williams Hall, and refreshments will be available starting at 3:45.

Congratulations to Will Jencius, who successfully defended his dissertation yesterday! The title of his dissertation is, 'Synthesis and Mechanistic Development of Photoreactive HNO (Nitroxyl) Donors.'
