Large police presence outside emergency room. Officers from Mesquite and DPD coming here shortly after the call came in that a Mesquite officer had been involved in a shooting.@CBSDFW

So far we know that officer is a veteran. He was shot in the chest and is in critical condition. We’re still waiting for more information on the extent of his injuries.
