Can one person change the culture of an organization?

Yes.

We all know that can definitely happen in a negative way. One person can shift the energy of a room, school, or an organization, to make it worse than what it was before.

The opposite can be true as well.

I saw

Our district is doing a rotation of remote learning because of a bus shortage. This is an important reminder that ALL the adults in schools have vital roles. It takes a village.

So- 4 weeks into the school year and my kid has 1 assignment from a class that meets every day. T told them she might get behind because she’s taking a grad class. Here’s the best part- late work from a S is graded to a max of a 50. Anyone else so the philosophic issue?

Wondering- should grades reflect learning? If so, does grading assignments that are late to a 0 do that? Hmmmm.

I had (20 years ago) a late = 50% policy - it was a terrible idea. When you know better you do better.
