By next Wednesday, temperatures will widely reach 15-18C, which is around average for May.

In the sunshine in the west, temperatures are in the mid teens.

Under the cloud and rain in the east, temperatures are stuck in single figures - around 5 to 7C below average for April.

Chilly air will sit across the UK this week, with some frost likely at night - especially in rural areas.

Towns and cities will be around 2-6C, but some rural areas could dip a few degrees below freezing.
