It is extremely hot in Gaza right now. They have no air conditioning, no fans, no ice, no cold drinks—just suffocating heat & bombs being dropped on them.

Perhaps we cannot decolonize the university but we sure as hell can reappropriate the space and make it ours to transform it into something radically different.

One underreported element of these protests is that many of them are occurring at schools with ostensibly the best journalism programs/schools in the country: USC, UT Austin, Emerson, UNC, Columbia, etc.

There are no universities left standing in Gaza because of Israel's assault and the media and pols alike are stuck discussing manufactured fear campaigns. It’s absolutely infuriating.

If I wanted to stop the momentum of the student push for Palestinian liberation I would probably not have opted to pursue a repressive course of action that explicitly affirms the numerous connections between the Palestinian struggle and the movement for police abolition
