A huge #SundayThanksgiving to the brilliant betina quest 🇩🇪🇧🇮 for a performance & conversation session at #LOATAD with our Black Atlantic Residents. Her insights into her creative process & music were invaluable to our understanding of the residency theme, “What is Africa to me?'

One of the highlights of the evening was sharing words with John Collins, a man who gave his life to highlife. John recorded and played with Fela, Victor Uwaifo, & other Ghanaian bands such as Jaguar Jokers, E T Mensah. He also taught African popular music.

It was great to meet the amazing Professor Esi Sutherland and learn from her experiences in writing about Ghana and Africa. Sutherland and her family contributed immensely to Ghana's cultural and intellectual awakening and beyond LOATAD.
