Inserted my own port for the final time of 2023 this afternoon.

Humbled and grateful for medical devices which help ease my journey with a chronic illness. One of many, my port has allowed me so much peace at infusions; before, during and after.

Today marks 12 years of being diagnosed and living with #IBD #crohnsdisease 🥳 each year feels like such a huge accomplishment because I know how bad it can be, I’m choose to celebrate that 2023 has been my best health year for quite some time 😎

I both hate my chronic illnesses and wish there was a cure, AND accept that there isn’t one (at this time) and love and value myself and my life as I am. Both can coexist.
