Opinion | Fergus Ewing is a horror not a hero.

'Dinosaurs are supposed to be extinct, but Ewingโ€™s continued presence confirms one is still rampaging through Holyrood.'

Since I saw that clip of Oliver Anthony singing 'Rich Men North of Richmond', the ghost of Woody Guthrie has been whispering in my ear. So today I sat down and wrote this response youtube.com/watch?v=qGNFR7โ€ฆ

'we suspended two Labour councillors for not being prepared to vote for the Tories against the SNP'. That's the People's Party for you right there. Tory enebalers to their roots.

Scottish Labour's Lord Foulkes saying the quiet bit out loud. He rubbishes the suggestion that Scotland is part of a union of equals.

Scotland is seen as secondary, an afterthought by Westminster.

Independence, being equal to any other independent nation, is perfectly normal.

The SNP have been handing Labour MPs 'Controls on family sizes' mugs.

The SNP argument that Labour and Tory governments will screw over struggling Scots has been significantly boosted this week.

The two-child limit is cruel and should be binned. If Anas Sarwar truly has any influence with UK Labour, he will tell Starmer to do another u-turn & scrap it.

Retaining the two-child limit is a deliberate policy choice to keep children in poverty.

Wow. Thatโ€™s Scottish Labourโ€™s official defence of the indefensible Starmer policy? If protecting the countryโ€™s most vulnerable children is not amongst their top priorities then WTF difference is Labour going to make?

Well worth noting the Child Poverty Action Group figures from last week - at least 80,000 kids in Scotland are affected by the two child benefits limit.

Labour now saying they wonโ€™t scrap it.

Starmer says the way to grow public services is by growing the economy. He clearly thinks the private sector leads. But when it wonโ€™t (as now) Keynes taught that the state must spend first to create growth. Starmer seems wholly unaware of that, which is irresponsible economics.
