Successfully launched a weather balloon with Florida Tech AMS yesterday! Radiosonde made it up to 6.7km (435.3 hPa) before we lost signal, and I've made some quick plots of the data here. Check out the school's news article on the event: news.fit.edu/academics-rese…

3pm Update

Scattered showers and storms have developed this afternoon. Some of this activity may become strong to severe, capable of large hail, strong to damaging winds, and frequent lightning. A tornado cannot be ruled out closer to the coast.

This evening's launch from Cape Canaveral, occurring not too long after sunset, featured the 'space jellyfish' effect.

Interesting weather event here today off FL's eastern coastline as it seems like we have ocean effect fog (perhaps combining with smoke particulates). The water temps here are in the low-mid 60's, so this would check out Mike's Weather Page

Very wild fog bank diving south along the Florida Space Coast visible on / . Some smoke mixed in as well. This is enhanced by colder water temperatures north of the Cape.
