I have dabbled in psychedelics and meditation but imo the fastest, easiest, and most reliable path to complete ego death is to visit the selling counter at Buffalo Exchange.

From talking to my students about why many don’t attend class, the reasons reported are mainly very long commutes and competing paid work obligations - both of which are consequences of the housing crisis.

Great! Let's have zoning that allows us to build them! When urbanists and housing folks advocate for this, we get told that we want to pack people together and force them to live in pods.

The process of public engagement in the US is designed to give the loudest, angriest, most privileged voices (usually older land owners) a curmudgeon’s veto over our cities. The best indication of what people really want is price. People love dense, beautiful, walkable places.

When I first started in YIMBYism, few empirical papers on new supply existed. Over the past 5 years, more & more have been published, & the vast majority show the same effect: new housing supply, even at the high end, leads to lower price and/or better quality homes for all.
