The Honourable Hugh Hilton Todd, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation met with Her Excellency Maria De Castro Martins, Ambassador of Brazil to Guyana to discuss priority areas of mutual interest between the two countries.

Foreign Minister Hugh Todd, yesterday, met with representatives of the ABCEU countries and France for the monthly dialogue on United Nations Security Council (UNSC) matters. The dialogue is intended to connect Georgetown with the respective capitals on UNSC related matters.

Foreign Minister Hugh Todd, today, met with Chinese Ambassador to Guyana, H.E. Guo Haiyan. During the meeting Minister Todd provided an update on the recent actions by Venezuela and restated the Guyana Government’s commitment to a peaceful resolution of the case before the ICJ.

Minister Todd on Wednesday evening met with H.E. Jorge Francisco Soberón Luis, Ambassador of Cuba to Guyana and provided an update on the recent actions by Venezuela. The Minister reiterated the Government of Guyana’s commitment to a peaceful resolution of the case before the ICJ

During a meeting with Russian Ambassador H.E Alexander Kurmaz, Minister Todd provided an update on the recent actions by Venezuela. He reiterated that the Government of Guyana is committed to a peaceful resolution of the case before the ICJ and the region being a zone of peace.

The Hon. Hugh Hilton Todd, Foreign Minister of Guyana, received a courtesy call from Her Excellency Ms. Nicole D. Theriot, Ambassador of the United States of America to the Co-operative Republic of Guyana, after she presented her letters of Credence to H.E. President Irfaan Ali.

Foreign Minister Hugh Todd received a courtesy call from Ambassador Rene Van Nes, Head of EU Delegation in Guyana during which they exchanged views on issues of bilateral and multilateral importance including the Guyana-EU Political Dialogue proposed to be held in December,2023

Foreign Minister Hon. Hugh Todd, participated in the 2nd Meeting of the Contact Group of South American Foreign Ministers, during the UNGA78. A Roadmap Proposal for South American Integration which identifies priority areas of work and cooperation in the region was adopted.
