I stopped by UW Madison’s encampment 2.0 tonight briefly. Despite police arresting nearly 40 people & destroying the entire encampment, including hundreds of dollars worth of food, students have returned to create a bigger, better encampment w/ more ppl, including more faculty.

yesterday, april 30, marked the 56th anniversary of the nypd arresting nearly 700 protestors on columbia’s campus to shut down the student movement of 1968. exactly 56 years later, they have unleashed the same forces they vowed to never unleash on the student body again.

The most important story of the #BlockCopCity action is not the police aggression, which was expected.
