Caitlin update. Overnight continued to be full of seizures. We had hard discussions about what comes next w/ Palliative. Caitlin received a major drug load that finally stopped the seizures, but she is out & needs the hospital bipap to breathe. Please keep her in your thoughts.

Caitlin update. We are in the Lurie Children’s Hospital PICU after a 4-seizure ambulance ride. We have the small room we had in 2019. 34 seizures today after barrels of emergency meds. Seems she also has a UTI. Waiting for Lynne to arrive with our things.

The local ER here is really not great. Dirty. Confused staff. Patients in all of the halls. 😔

Caitlin update. Not great. Not responding well to all of the meds. We are getting transferred to the Lurie PICU, so three-hour ambulance ride coming.
It is likely insurance won’t cover some of the ambulance trip.

We are at the local hospital ER. Caitlin is not responding fully to the IV emergency meds and is still having seizures. This is very bad. Please keep her in your thoughts.

Caitlin update. She's had 14 seizures so far today. Some fairly long. She didn't respond to emergency meds. Waiting for the doctor to give us a plan. Please send all of the good thoughts.

Things are not getting better. Another seizure (which is especially scary in the 24 hours after Diastat), and many desats— one as low as the 50s. Otherwise, Caitlin remains almost constantly sleeping still and barely reactive.

Caitlin update. Things are bad. Three more strong seizures this morning with the last one needing her emergency diazepam to stop it. She has spent days sleeping constantly. Desats still happening. We are exhausted and despondent.

Caitlin update. Still not great. Another seizure this morning. She remains weak and spends most of her days sleeping. We keep waiting for her to bounce back, but almost no improvement since her discharge from the PICU over a week ago.
