Do not go numb to the fact that they are deploying snipers and militarized police to stop kids from speaking out against genocide. If this were happening in another country, we would be calling for regime change.

(as seen in 'deja vu,' by the brilliant colin watterson and jameson danning. reposting as to not burden colin's personal itch channel. works well on PC, badly on mac.)

Student protesters were right about segregation in the early '60s, right about Vietnam in the late '60s, right about apartheid in the '80s, right about Iraq in 2003, and right about wealth inequality in 2011. Seems generally bad to side against student movements.

Were they wrong on Vietnam? No. Were they wrong on South Africa? No. Were they wrong on Iraq? No. They won’t be wrong on Israel, either. Signed, A Historian.

You quite famously relied on sources to push for the invasion of Iraq that refused to identify themselves publicly. You went to jail for it.

I think the moral content of a protest matters, I think it’s the single most important thing actually, and the elaborate media pseudo debates about tactics, electoral impact etc—where we discuss everything but the moral content—is because the righteousness of the cause is obvious

Nothing more disgusting than coming onto Twitter dot com to see 'Come join me at Anduril to weaponize Haskell'. The reason to use Haskell? 'If we don't get it right people die'. Buddy you're WEAPONIZING HASKELL you will kill people by your own admission what are you smoking?

If this was happening during a Trump presidency CNN and MSNBC would be insisting that we’re living in a fascist dictatorship.

What's cool about looking back at the history of college protests is that 19 year old students have been right about every single American war, and the esteemed Harvard educated opinion writers at the New York Times have been wrong about every single American war.

Politics, which is to say the act of DOING politics rather than simply spectating an MSNBC-curated soap opera—is the belief one can change things without warfare. The idea our govt will fund genocide no matter who we vote for and its a fait accompli is the opposite of this belief
