If you're looking for a new job as a software engineer, and you're sick of working for shitty engineering leadership, I can vouch for these guys. linkedin.com/jobs/view/3887…

I would walk over hot spikes to work for Cory again, and he's made some extremely good hires already.

Oh wow, this makes for a fascinating read. 'Shouldn’t an authorization service answer authorization questions on its own? Surprisingly, no.'

The article argues that you should be able to centralize your authorization logic without centralizing your authorization data. 🤯🔥

OMG!!! Pre-ordering the crap out of this. Can't think of many people whose brains I would love to spend more time with.

Plus, looking forward to a future full of more successful microservices 😍

As for high dimensionality, it just means 'wide'. A dimension is a key-value pair, so 'high dimensionality' means lots of k/v pairs per log event. Wide events. 💕

Kai Hendry super structured 😎

it's a structured log with more fields that your typical logs, and usually in JSON format

we have a blog post about canonical logs, which are a very adjecent concept

you can also check anything Charity Majors writes 😊

Enjoyed this one with Lukas Fittl Charity Majors and the crew. Yes, databases are really cool.

ORM usage w/o solid fundamentals of SQL, queries, and indexes - works, but only up to a point. Visibility/tracing could be better.
