Hey HP Support your product is unusable. We've used the chat bot twice and asked for a call back in the evening - but you keep leaving messages during the day. How can we replace this product - it is defective.

Fantastic session on Understanding Attention by Andrew Watson. Especially loved the 'spiders' analogy for distractions we can't control - had one of the moments this past week :)

David Daniels talk about developing a science of teaching reminded me of when the Min. of Ed. would provide funding so groups teachers could do research in their own classrooms. Wish we still had it.

Listening to Dr. Elizabeth Kensinger talk about memory and forgetting and how it applies to learning. The fact that educators are not taught about this never ceases to amaze me.

In our latest piece in The Conversation Canada, Larry Savage and I argue that interest arbitration is a poor substitute for the right to strike. It demobilizes unions and does anti-union governments' work for them

NASA's fire map for Canada today. If you're teaching about climate change this year in any course, you might want to grab some screenshots.

I get that making fun of the government gets a few laughs. But cursive writing isn't the joke you think it is. There is evidence that cursive writing improves memory and learning. It also benefits students with dyslexia and dysgraphia. Pick something else please.

Colleagues, can you please think carefully about the comments/learning skills you enter for your IEP students? Telling them to improve something that is literally the reason for their IEP (disability) is just so demoralizing and just not helpful.

Impactful words by Carolyn Bertozzi today on how diversity in her trainees enabled creativity, not playing by the rules, and ultimately the work that built the field of bioorthogonal chemistry. Diverse science leads to better science!

Hey folks, if a student has duplicated notes as an accommodation in their IEP, isn't it the teacher's responsibility to provide them?

Good news - it looks like we have a bus this year! Bad news - pick-up is at 6:59 am. Sigh. We know that later start times are better for students. Curious, are any trustee candidates talking about this?
