Oops. Pre-existing. (It was pretty exciting though)

On the 14th anniversary of ACA, thinking about how my cervical cancer can be a scary year and not a pre-exciting condition that haunts the rest of my life.

After Margarita was downsized from a govt contract, she struggled w/jobs & housing — but was getting her life back on track.

Then she got injured & landed in a non-profit hospital. Like many others, this hospital refused her financial assistance and drove her into #MedicalDebt .

Margarita still gets daily calls from collections agencies.

Today, we're making sure policymakers hear her story: The health care industry has a responsibility to the communities they serve.
