Yesterday, Antonia Hylton shared her experience reporting w/ NBC News *ON* campus Thurs/Fri describing a peaceful scene (which is what I also confirm witnessing this week & all semester). I'm confused by NBC reports from outside the gates that exclude this important context.

I don't want to fully theorize this yet, but it is kind of weird that the biggest story in the US about Israel / Palestine is about college campuses when there are multiple mass graves being uncovered and constant bombardment in Gaza right now ('as we tweet').

Lots of noise from people already predisposed to want to see the second iteration of Gaza Solidarity Encampment cleared, but it’s vital people understand this wave of criticism stems from something Shai spun specifically to demonize the demo.

As a Jewish Columbia student, it is perfectly safe for Jews on campus—if we are talking about student protesters. As Jewish student protesters learned on Thursday, however, they may not be safe from CU admin calling the NYPD to arrest them.
