Poor old Toby. An old wether he is prone to stumbling. Yesterday I noticed that I couldn't see him & he had fallen over out of sight behind the barn. Sadly the crows found him first & got at one of his eyes & his tongue. Pleased to say he is eating well despite his injuries.

An hour in the garden bringing my beloved citrus trees back inside as they will not enjoy the forecast freezing overnight temperatures thus week. Everything a little battered by the winds but new life is growing fast

So impressed by these cucumber varieties from Real Seeds. Sown 3 days ago into coir modules they germinated in less than a day on a heat mat. Now potted on. Tamara slicing cucumber (left) & Cornichon de Paris for pickling (right).

Spring gathers pace as at last the mud is drying out. Cowslips are flowering in the meadow (the bare stalks left when emus tear off & discard the heads after rejecting them as a snack). Sweet apple blossom scent wafting round the trees & returning blackcaps singing in the hedge🎶
